The TorcUP TLM (Torque Load Management) uses ultrasound to measure the actual elongation of a bolt or stud during and after tightening, however it is tightened. The TLM measures the change in transit time of an ultrasonic pulse through the bolt and converts it to time (nanoseconds), elongation, load, stress or percentage elongation. This works in bolts of virtually any material, from 1 to 48 inches (25 mm to 1.22 m) long.

Features
Actual bolt load
Measures the elongation in the bolt, instead of deriving it from the torque.
Periodic monitoring
Check the preload of bolts during shutdowns, throughout their service life.
Compare waveforms
Compare the unloaded with the loaded waveform on the display.
Measured quantities
Time (nanoseconds), elongation, load, stress and percentage elongation.
AutoSet
Automatically finds the detection signal, optimises the gain and adjusts the display.
Alarm limits
High and low limits with beeper, bar and LEDs; can be linked to switching off the pump.
Data logging
8,000 measurements and waveforms in groups; export via RS232; 64 custom setups.
Field calibration
Vector and linear regression; factory calibration traceable to national standards.
Applications
Critical bolted joints
Flanges, pressure vessels and machine joints where the preload matters.
In combination with hydraulic wrenches
Tighten with a TorcUP wrench and measure the elongation at the same time.
Inspection and maintenance
Checking the preload of existing bolts.
