WTB Series

Fully aware of the difficulties associated with wind turbine blade tensioning, the new WTB Series is a purpose designed range of hydraulic bolt tensioning tools to suit most wind turbine bolting applications. All WTB Tensioning tools have the capacity to achieve the specified proof load requirements as detailed in EN ISO 898-1:1999 and ASTM A490M for grade 10.9 Bolts. These feature packed tensioners have been designed with rapid tensioning in mind and offer a safe, reliable and consistent method to simultaneously tension many bolts.

Swivel movement ensures versatility

Due to the very limited space available in many
blade bolt compartments and to help where many tensioners are connected together every WTB tensioner has the option of a 360o swivel connection. This 360o swivel operation allows the hydraulic hoses to be positioned in the best possible position to allow open access to the tensioning tools.


WTF Series

The New WTF is a purpose designed range of hydraulic bolt tensioning tools designed to suit most wind turbine foundation
bolting applications. The WTF tensioning tools can be supplied to suit many different All Thread Bars and the more convention- ally ISO metric and Imperial Unified Thread forms. These feature packed tensioners have been designed with rapid tensioning in mind and offer a safe, reliable and consistent method to simul- taneously tension many Foundation bolts. The WTF range of tensioning tools have been fully site evaluated in the wind energy industry.

25mm (1”) Ram stroke for ‘One Pull’ Tensioning
Due to the unusual length of foundation bolts and the methods used to anchor the bolts into the foundation structure, it is usual to experience relatively large amount of bolt extension during foundation bolt tensioning. For this reason it is very im- portant that the bolt tensioning tool used has plenty of piston/ ram stroke capacity. The WTF range of tensioners offer up to 25mm piston/ram stroke capability for “one Pull” uninterrupted tensioning. Shorter Stroke foundation tensioners are available from us to be used where bar protrusion is limited.


WTP3

Wind Turbine Bolt Tensioning Electric Driven Pump Unit
The TorcUP WTP3 is a self contained electric driven high pressure hydraulic pump unit that can generate pressures of up to 1600 bar. The unit is a perfect match with the wind turbine range of bolt tension- ing tools that we supply. One of the major features of the WTP3 Pump unit is the ability to totally remote control the pump from the controller hand grip. The WTP3 unit is designed to work in adverse environ- mental conditions, to ensure its durability the unit is certified to IP-56.

Compact-8 Series

Subsea Bolt Tensioning Tools

Eight Compact Tensioners Capable of Tensioning Over 400 Standard Flanges.

The COMPACT-8 range of subsea bolt tensioning tools brings a new generation of bolting solutions. Comprised of eight bolt tensioning tools, the COMPACT-8 series is capable of tensioning most standard flanges including the newer Vector SPO* Compact flanges.

The COMPACT-8 series is made from high strength stainless steel which greatly reduces mainte- nance work to a minimum after subsea use. TorcUP subsea bolt tensioning tools have been used around the world since 1996 and have a proven reliability and safety record.


Split Reaction Nut

The Compact-8 range of subsea Bolt Tensioning tools can be supplied with quick acting Split Reaction Nuts. 

Simply mount the tensioning tool over the stud to be tensioned, slide the open reaction nut over the bolt and snap the reaction nut halves together for rapid and reliable assembly. 

The rapid speed of fit ensures the most efficient use of expensive diver time.

THT Series Topside Bolt Tensioning Tools

“The THT range of bolt tensioning tools are some of the most compact and reliable tensioners available today.”

The THT range of topside bolt tensioning tools we supplying consist of 6 base tools covering bolt Imperial sizes from 3/4" to 4"and Metric from M20 to M115. 
The tools are designed to fit on to most ANSI B16.5, ANSI B16.47 Series 1, MSS-SP44, API-6A and API-17D flanges. 
Each base tool can be converted for use on a different bolts size by the use of our conversion kits.

Seal Reliability

Seal reliability is a fundamental requirement. All tensioners have polyurethane self-energizing lip seals requiring no adjustment. The seals ‘snap fit’ into the piston housing, remain firm and will not dislodge to cause failure after prolonged use. As the seals are machined and not molded, size is not restricted, allowing no compromise in tensioner design. The supplied seal exhibits a much lower coefficient of friction than nitrile seals used in many other hydraulic bolt tensioners. This benefit, in conjunction with a special anti-extrusion device, allows the tool piston/ram to be returned to its closed position with minimal effort.

Link Hose System

One of the many advantages of hydraulic bolt tensioning is the ability to link a number of tensioners together and load simultaneously all the bolts on a joint. Although this gives excellent load distribution, an enormous variety of flexible hose assemblies are necessary - which confuse the user. To overcome this problem we offer a single assembly called a ‘Link hose’. This length of flexible high pressure hose, fitted with male and female quick connect couplings at opposite ends is fast and an economical method of connecting multiple tensioners together - the number of hoses required is the same as the number of tools to be linked - a simple formula to remember.

Flange Spreaders

One size fits all

With the Hydraulic Power-Spreader, TFS-10H, a hydraulic cylinder replaces the ratchet handle.

A standard hand pump powers 1 Power-Spreader, or a pair, with ease. Again, you are supplied with 4535 kg (10,000 lbs) of force and 76.2 mm (3”) of gap; ample for gasket replacement or turning of blinds.
Using the manual Power-Spreader, TFS-10H, simply place the tips between the flange spreaders faces and turn the ratcheted handle.

The ratcheting action is transformed into 4535 Kg (10,000 lbs.) Of spreading force and creates up to 76.2 mm (3”) of gap.
